Welcome to the home page of the P&H BA, the site contains information about Badminton in the district.
The league is associated to the Hampshire Badminton Association and Badminton England, and covers a geographical area from Portsmouth to Whiteley in the west and Liss in the north. Portsmouth was formed in the early 1920's and amalgamated with Havant in 1995.
The majority of clubs play League Badminton which caters for many formats including the Mens, Mini Mixed and Combination League.
We are always actively seeking players to join the clubs registered in the Association. We would also be pleased to hear from other clubs that may be interested in entering their own teams.
There are thriving Junior Clubs in the area and contacts are included on the site.

In 1893 Major S.S. Dolby, Hon Secretary of the Southsea Badminton Club, wrote to all known Badminton clubs, and also put a notice in "The Field", that "A meeting is to be held at Dunbar, Waverley Grove, Southsea near Portsmouth' at 2:00 p m on September 13th, 1893 for the purpose of forming a "Badminton Association". The meeting duly framed and approved rules both for the Association and for the game. Thus the Badminton Association was founded.
